Take those two minutes from your free morning routines and make your bed.
“And if by chance you have a miserable day, you will come home to a bed that is made.”
William McRaven, a retired US navy admiral advised graduates at the University of Texas speech in 2014 saying,
‘If you wanna change the world, start of by making your bed. If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task, and another and another. And by the end of the day that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed.’
The author of Make Your Bed: Small Things That Can Change Your Life…And Maybe The World notes that making bed, though it sounded simple and easy had taught him the importance of getting his day off to a good start.
‘Making your bed will also reinforce the fact that the little things in life matter. If you can’t do the little things right, you will never be able to do the big things right.’
Making bed in the morning, having accomplished one small task of the day will give you satisfaction which lead to happiness that will make you have a more productive day.
And made bed will give you encouragement that tomorrow will be better.
